Tanya J. Uritsky, PharmD, CPE
9:15-10:15 a.m.
Overview
Drug overdoses are ravaging our nation with no end in sight. In 2021, illicit drug use was responsible for over 100,000 deaths, with the majority of deaths involving opioids. This presentation will be somewhat different, where a game show platform using a buzzer system will provide an engaging way to learn more about how to care for patients affected by use disorder. Categories will include medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD), pain management in use disorder, harm reduction, withdrawal management, stigma, and screening. Final jeopardy question will challenge the participants with a question that will push the limit of their knowledge of use disorder.
Learning Objectives
-
Discuss opioid use disorder to decrease the stigma associated with this disease.
